Senator Al Franken Apologizes For Sexual Misconduct Allegations Despite Inability to Recall Incidents.
Senator Al Franken issued a public apology in response to groping allegations from Leeann Tweeden in mid November.
During the press conference Senator Franken stated he felt “embarrassed and ashamed” and that he “would like to re-gain the trust ” of the American people.
Since the apology, four additional women have come forward with similar claims of misconduct. Senator Franken stated he will not resign from the Senate, but will cooperate with the Senate Ethics Committee investigation.
