A Refugee Center for Displaced Pets

We arrived in west Houston to dozens of volunteers scrubbing dog crates. Water and soap drained yards away into the Katy Mills Mall parking lot. This was a collection point for displaced pets from Hurricane Harvey.
An outpouring of support from locals brought manpower, cages, and food. Pets were given healthcare and baths.
Empty cages were spread across the area suggesting those with open hearts far outnumbered the animals needing assistance.
Crates were marked with tags to identify the animal and if the owner could be located.
Taking a look at our four-legged refugees, nothing but smiles and optimism. They pets seemed to be enjoying the attention.
